FRANCO-ITALIAN turboprop jet maker ATR is “optimistic” about increasing production of its aircraft after working to resolve supply chain issues over the past couple of years.
Chief Executive Officer Nathalie Tarnaud Laude said the manufacturer, an Airbus SE and Leonardo SpA joint venture, is aiming to secure orders similar to levels of 2024 and last year at a minimum.
“The story of in 2026 is the one of the ramp up,” Tarnaud Laude said in an interview at the Singapore Airshow. “I think all the teams are really focused on that one, which is the number one priority for us.”
The turboprop specialist, whose planes seats 40 to 78 passengers, delivered 26 aircraft last year, according to Cirium data.
At the show, ATR agreed to a deal with regional airline AirBorneo, based in Sarawak in Malaysia, for eight of its turboprop aircraft.
The company also sees more orders for its regional jets this year driven by renewals, and momentum in markets like India, Japan and Malaysia for sales. –BLOOMBERG
