YBS International Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Oriental Fastech Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (OFM), is acquiring an industrial property in Perai, Penang, for RM23.5 million in cash as part of its expansion strategy.
The property, currently tenanted and occupied by OFM, comprises a semi-detached factory building with a built-up of approximately 61,586 sq ft on 8,093 sq m of leasehold land expiring in 2032.
The purchase will be funded through a mix of internal funds and bank borrowings.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, YBS said the acquisition reflects growing customer demand and supports the group’s operational scale-up.
Located near YBS’s existing plants and supply chain network, the site is expected to improve management oversight and logistical efficiency.
It said that the move allows the company to strengthen its production capacity and meet future growth needs.
The acquisition is not subject to shareholder approval and is expected to be completed within three months.
While it will not affect earnings for FY2026 materially, YBS’s net gearing is expected to increase to 0.53 times from 0.39 times post-acquisition. — TMR
