UWC Bhd’s net profit for the third quarter ended April 30, 2025 (3Q25) nearly doubled to RM7.96 million from RM4.02 million a year earlier, supported by a strong recovery in the semiconductor market.
Quarterly revenue surged 45% to RM95.56 million, driven mainly by improved demand in its semiconductor segment – the group’s largest revenue contributor.
As at April 30, UWC’s cash balance stood at RM26.57 million, down from RM80.99 million at end-July 2024, due to capital expenditure and net operating cash outflows.
Total liabilities increased to RM92.32 million, with borrowings amounting to RM9 million.
For the cumulative nine-month period, net profit rose 83.2% to RM24.14 million from RM13.18 million a year ago, while revenue climbed 60.7% to RM277.38 million from RM172.58 million.
Looking ahead, UWC said it remains positive on its outlook, underpinned by ongoing project wins and capacity expansion in front-end semiconductor, electric vehicle, and medical technology segments.
The group is also developing new facilities to support demand in AI-related semiconductor manufacturing and next-generation life science technologies. — TMR
