KUALA LUMPUR — The runway at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in Kepala Batas, Kedah reopened at 3pm today following the final safety clearance by Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), said Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB).
In a post on the X platform, it said flight operations have resumed as normal.
Earlier, MAHB had said that the runway was temporarily closed following an aircraft-related incident at 11.30 am today.
The closure was to facilitate the removal of a Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) aircraft and runway clearing works, MAHB said.
A notice to airmen was issued by CAAM. The closure was expected to remain in effect until 4pm today.
MAHB also advised passengers to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. — BERNAMA
