AIR cargo transportation specialist Sin-Kung Logistics Bhd is set to expand its regional logistics footprint with the launch of its newly rebranded aviation subsidiary, Sin-Kung Airways Sdn Bhd, in the third quarter of 2025.
The airline, formerly known as Prima Air Sdn Bhd, unveiled its new identity at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025, following approvals from the Companies Commission of Malaysia and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.
Sin-Kung Airways will begin operations with both air cargo and premium private passenger charter services, leveraging its Piaggio P180 Avanti II aircraft.
The company plans to lease three aircraft by year-end, with the first delivery expected in July.
Initial routes will connect Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Labuan, and Hong Kong, targeting high-demand sectors such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, oil and gas, and perishables.
Its group MD Alan Ong said the rebranding aligns all aviation operations under a unified Sin-Kung identity, strengthening the group’s position as a full-spectrum logistics solutions provider.
The airline’s expansion strategy includes offering air feeder services and forging cargo interline agreements with partner airlines, enabling broader network coverage across Asia.
Complementing its air cargo ambitions, Sin-Kung Airways will integrate operations with the group’s existing airport-to-airport road feeder services in Malaysia and Singapore.
The company also enters the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) space, with certifications including CAMO and AMO, ensuring full regulatory compliance and technical self-sufficiency.
Sin-Kung Airways holds both an Air Operator Certificate and an Air Service Permit, qualifying it for non-scheduled commercial air transport operations across cargo, charter, and MRO segments. — TMR
