MORE than 220 amateur players took part in the 2025 Mazda Trophy Golf Championship, held on June 15 at the prestigious Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Shah Alam, Selangor.
The annual event featured two main categories of participants: Invited guests and Glenmarie club members.
Club members competed on the Garden Course, while invited guests teed off on the Valley Course, allowing both groups to enjoy a competitive yet distinct golfing experience.
In the invited guests category, Mohd Azmie Lahad (handicap 24) was crowned the overall champion with a score of 59 points. Second place went to Nur Ain Qistina (handicap 3, 73 points), followed by Mohd Rozi Jidin in third (handicap 5, 77 points).
In the club members category, Ricky Yim Chun Pong (handicap 19) secured first place with 62 points on countback, edging out Takuya Osaki (handicap 3), who also finished with 62 points. Johnson Jee Chau Hau (handicap 5) claimed third place with a score of 78 points.
The champions, first runners-up and second runners-up in each category were awarded shopping vouchers worth RM1,000, RM600, and RM400, respectively, in recognition of their outstanding performances. — TMR
