LIANSON Fleet Group Bhd (LFG), formerly known as Icon Offshore Bhd, has entered into a deal to sell one of its anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, Omni Victory, for US$7.6 million (approximately RM32.02 million), as part of its fleet modernisation strategy.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, LFG said the vessel is being sold by its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Omni Victory (L) Inc, to Huashun Shipping (Liberia) Inc — a wholly owned unit of Shenzhen Huawei Offshore Shipping Transport Co Ltd.
Omni Victory is a Malaysian-flagged DP-2 AHTS vessel built in 2010, with a deadweight of 2,524 tonnes and a static bollard pull of 108 tonnes.
The vessel was acquired in 2011 for RM65.82 million, and had a net book value of RM22.57 million as at May 31, 2025.
LFG expects to realise a gain of approximately RM8.15 million from the disposal, which is expected to be completed by end-August 2025.
Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and to support the group’s future growth plans.
“The proposed disposal is part of LFG’s ongoing fleet rejuvenation efforts to modernise and replace its fleet in line with the evolving market demands of the oil and gas industry,” the company said.
“This also aligns with LFG’s rebranding and long-term strategy to diversify from being a pure-play offshore support vessel player into other vessel asset classes, supporting our pivot towards new markets and strengthening our long-term growth and operational flexibility.”
The consideration was reached on a willing-buyer, willing-seller basis.
The vessel was last valued at US$5.7 million in December 2024 by an independent valuer. — TMR
