KPJ Healthcare Bhd has awarded RM35.1 million worth of renovation and consultancy contracts to related parties as part of its hospital expansion and upgrading plans.
Its indirect subsidiary Rawang Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd awarded two contracts to JLG & BP Design Sdn Bhd – RM21.47 million for new premier wards at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2, and RM10.5 million for lobby and façade upgrades at Damansara Specialist Hospital.
Separately, KPJ’s Bandar Dato Onn Specialist Hospital appointed JLG Projects Sdn Bhd as project management consultant for the Johor Specialist Hospital expansion, with a consultancy fee of RM3.12 million.
The contracts were awarded via open or single-sourced tenders.
All three companies are related to Johor Corp (JCorp), KPJ’s major shareholder with a 45% combined direct and indirect stake.
KPJ said the projects are part of its 2025 strategic plan and are not expected to have a material impact on its FY2024 financials. — TMR
