DESTINI Bhd said that its indirect subsidiary, Trovon Malaysia Sdn Bhd, has entered into two subcontractor agreements with SMH Rail Sdn Bhd to overhaul HVAC and brake caliper systems for 58 electric trainsets operating on the MRT Line 1 (Sungai Buloh–Kajang Line).
The 20-month contract, running from June 2025 to January 2027, supports SMH’s main contract with Mass Rapid Transit Corporation.
The engagement marks a significant step in expanding Trovon’s role in Malaysia’s rail maintenance sector and aligns with the national push for greater local content under the Malaysian Rail Supporting Industry Roadmap 2030.
The works are expected to contribute positively to Destini’s earnings but are not expected to materially affect its net assets or gearing. — TMR
