JAMAICAN dancehall superstar Sean Paul is set to return to Malaysian shores this October, reigniting the spirit of early-2000s party anthems in a long-awaited comeback performance that promises to be nothing short of electrifying.
The Grammy-winning artist will take the stage at Idea Live Arena, Kuala Lumpur, on Oct 10, marking his first performance in Malaysia since 2018.
Known for global hits like Temperature, Get Busy and We Be Burnin’, Sean Paul’s return is expected to draw fans from across generations for one night of pure, rhythmic nostalgia.
Organised by Epic Elation in collaboration with Sound Innovations, Spike Productions and LFG Entertainment, the show is set to be a high-energy celebration of music, culture and connection.
This writer is particularly looking forward to reliving the carefree nights of the 2000s — where weekends were soundtracked by dancehall beats and lyrics memorised from MTV countdowns.
The thought of singing along to No Lie or Gimme the Light — this time, live — is enough to tempt anyone back to the dance floor.
Fans can expect a powerful performance blending Sean Paul’s greatest hits with his newer material, including Ginger, a 2024 release that has gained momentum across global streaming platforms.
Sharing his excitement, Sean Paul said performing in Malaysia has always been memorable.
“Every time I connect with fans around the world, it’s a blessing. I can’t wait to be back in Malaysia. The support and energy from the fans there is always incredible.
“I’m especially excited to perform Ginger live. That track has a vibe, and I know the crowd will feel it too,” he added.
Tickets went on sale via fanto-pia.io on July 21. Ticket prices start from RM363, with the Superfan category offering seated access on Level 2. Fans can also opt for the We Be Burnin’ or Temperature sections, priced at RM393 each — both providing a choice between seated and standing experiences.
The Ginger tier, named after his latest single, is available for RM433, while Get Busy seats are priced slightly higher at RM463.
Standing access under the Shake That Thing category is available at RM473, while the No Lie seated section — offering the top-tier experience — will be sold at RM493.
The concert is supported by official radio partners Era FM, Hitz FM, Mix FM and Sinar FM, who will be running promotional segments and giveaways in the lead-up to the event.
With his signature beats and crowd-commanding presence, Sean Paul’s KL concert is shaping up to be a night where memories are made, hips don’t lie and grown-up partygoers get to relive their glory days — just one more time.
