NURUL Izzah Anwar (picture) said she will decide on whether to contest the PKR deputy president post soon.
She said she sincerely respects and appreciates the grassroots’ view and promise to give the best decision upon balancing consensus, friendship bond, meaningful change and reform for all members.
“PKR is in a crucial phase. Therefore, all decisions that will be taken must consider not only the need to unite and strengthen the bond between comrades-in-arms, but also the need to bring new life and meaningful change to ensure that this party continues to be relevant and trusted by the Malaysian people,” she said in a statement today.
Yesterday several federal and state party leaders supported Nurul Izzah to contest the No 2 post which is currently held by incumbent Rafizi Ramli.
PKR stated that the nomination date for the central leadership election will be this Friday.
The upcoming PKR elections, scheduled for May 24, are shaping up to be a pivotal moment for the party. — TMR
