SunCon bags RM1.16b data centre contracts from US tech firm

SUNWAY Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has landed two new contracts worth RM1.16 billion to provide general contractor services for data centre projects from an undisclosed US-based technology company.

The projects, awarded to its wholly owned unit Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, begin immediately and are slated for completion by February 2027.

With these wins, SunCon has secured RM3.5 billion in new orders year-to-date – exceeding half of its 2025 replenishment target of RM4.5-6 billion – raising its outstanding order book to RM7.9 billion. Its MD Liew Kok Wing said the contracts bolster the group’s order book and earnings visibility, with continued momentum expected in the current financial year driven by accelerated progress in data centre developments. –TMR
