Sealink International reports fire incident on vessel in Brazil, investigation underway

SEALINK International Bhd has announced a fire incident involving one of its vessels currently in Brazil.

The fire occurred on May 17, 2025, on a vessel under a bareboat charter arrangement.

The company was notified of the incident by the charterer on May 21, with no casualties reported.

Its board of directors stated that the company is actively working with the charterer and relevant parties to determine the cause and assess the situation.

Investigations and technical evaluations are ongoing to evaluate the extent of the damage, which may be significant.

Sealink has also informed the vessel’s insurers and will provide further updates as new information becomes available. — TMR
