
CELCOMDIGI Bhd recorded a 1.9% year-on-year increase in net profit to RM383.78 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025, despite a near threefold jump in tax expenses to RM164.95 million.
Revenue rose slightly to RM3.21 billion, with earnings per share improving to 3.27 sen from 3.21 sen.
Service revenue declined 1.2% to RM2.69 billion, although postpaid revenue rose 3.2% to RM1.07 billion, driven by subscriber growth and convergence plans.
Prepaid and fibre segments also showed resilience, with home and fibre revenue surging 48.1% to RM55 million.
The group added 190,000 subscribers, bringing its total to 20.6 million.
A first interim dividend of 3.7 sen per share was declared.
Its CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi said the results reflect strong execution of strategic goals, including progress in network integration (80% completed), IT consolidation, and retail transformation.
CelcomDigi anticipates stronger financial performance in 2025, with post-integration cost savings of RM700–800 million annually from 2027. — TMR
