Pos Malaysia’s 1Q net loss widens on weaker postal, logistics revenue

POS Malaysia Bhd saw a wider net loss of RM41.5 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025 (1Q25), compared to a net loss of RM19.7 million a year earlier, due to lower contributions from its postal and logistics segments.

Revenue fell 5% year-on-year to RM467 million, weighed down by lower delivery volumes, though partially offset by improved performance in its aviation business.

On a sequential basis, the group’s losses narrowed from RM77.2 million in 4Q24, helped by a 2% revenue uptick.

Pos Malaysia said it plans to grow its logistics and automotive services, enhance customer experience, and improve efficiency, though the impact of new US tariffs on its postal operations remains uncertain. — TMR
